Frequently asked questions

Is this legal advice?

No. heizcheck calculates deadlines based on our reading of §60a and §60b GModG. Exceptions, such as building automation or hydraulic balancing already carried out, are not taken into account. If in doubt, ask your installer or legal adviser.

Does this still apply now that the GEG has a new name?

Yes. Since 29 July 2026 the Gebäudeenergiegesetz (GEG) has been called the Gebäudemodernisierungsgesetz (GModG). §60a and §60b still apply, and the 30 September 2027 deadline stays.

Which heating systems does §60b cover?

Heating systems that use water as the heat carrier, in buildings with at least six flats or other separate units. Systems installed before 1 October 2009 must be inspected by 30 September 2027, later ones within a year after 15 years of operation.

And heat pumps?

For heat pumps installed from 2024 in buildings with at least six units, §60a applies: an operating check after the first heating season, no later than two years after commissioning. heizcheck then plans a repeat after five years.

Do installers need an account?

No. Each system has an upload link. The installer uploads the signed inspection report there as a PDF.

What format does the building list need?

A CSV file with the columns adresse, einheiten, anlage, baujahr and optionally letzte_pruefung. A sample file is available after you sign in.
